Morse Lumber) and West Haven (West Haven Lumber and Welco) and Waterford, Connecticut (Waterford Building Supply). We are looking for a motivated and experienced Marketing Director. The Marketing Director manages the marketing process from research and planning to execution and analysis. This individual should be adept at studying economic indicators, tracking changes in supply and demand, identifying customers and their current and future needs, and monitoring the competition.


  • Contribute to marketing effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range issues that must be addressed, providing information and commentary pertinent to deliberations, recommending options and courses of action, and implementing directives.
  • Participate in the development of branding and corporate identity initiatives.
  • Establish and grow a target market share by developing marketing plans and programs for each product and directing promotional support.
  • Maintain relations with customers by organizing and developing specific customer- relations programs and determining company presence at conventions, annual meetings, trade associations, and seminars.
  • Provide short- and long-term market forecasts and reports by directing market research collection, analysis, and interpretation of market data.
  • Influence present and future products by determining and evaluating current and future market trends.
  • Maintain research database by identifying and assembling marketing information.
  • Provide marketing information by answering questions and requests.
  • Achieve financial objectives by developing and managing marketing budgets, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances and initiating corrective actions.
  • Work with new business development team and sales teams on brand initiatives
  • Manage agency providers, consultants, freelancers and other suppliers, including contract negotiation and management
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills


  • Five to ten years of applicable marketing experience.
  • Knowledge of finance, especially expense management and profit and loss statements
  • Familiarity with the creative side of marketing and design.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
